Frisco is no longer known as the city that is "poised for growth;" it's the fastest growing city in North Texas!

A major boom to the area is the completion of the Dallas North Tollway from Highway 121 to FM720 - Frisco's downtown Main Street. Additional highway/service road extensions are scheduled for completion within the next three to five years. This construction completion opens the city to a world of increased economic growth, both retail and residential. Frisco's location is one to be envied: the city sits on the edge of the Dallas-Plano northern business center. Just to the north of Frisco sits a vast region moving toward major development.

In August 2000, Stonbriar Centre, a 1,6000,000 sq. ft. regional shopping mall opened at the NW center of SH 121 and Preston Rd. The 6 anchor stores are JC Penney, Sears, Foley's, Nordstroms, Macy's and Galyan's Trading Co. The mall has a 24-screen AMC movie theater complex on the 3rd level plus a NHL official size hockey/ice skating rink.

Frisco is home of the Superdrome, an international cycling track. All cycling time trials for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia, were held in Frisco. The city also has an abundance of parks offering activities for children and adults alike. Frisco residents can also enjoy the Natatorium, which holds a 25-meter indoor pool, allowing for a swim team, swimming lessons and water aerobics. In addition, the aquatic center is complemented with a state-of-the-art fitness facility, indoor basketball court, archery and putting range with a total area of 33,000 sq. ft. The center is available to all Frisco residents on a membership basis.
